The PDA Mission
Progressive Democrats of America exists to carry the progressive agenda from the American grassroots to Congress, to guide the development of progressive legislation, fight for its passage into law, and support the realization of progressive policies at the state and local levels.
Reclaiming the Democratic Party
Since the 2004 Democratic convention, Progressive Democrats of America has led the way in bringing the Democratic Party back to its roots on the issues. PDA establishes chapters in congressional districts to champion the progressive positions the Democratic Party needs in order to regain governing status.
What is PDA's Goal?
We want a Democratic Party that stands for peace, fair trade, universal health care, clean elections, a clean environment and economic justice. We’re achieving this by mobilizing the grassroots to hold the Party leadership accountable and helping to elect progressive candidates on the local level.
Bridges Between Progressives
We need unity between Democrats, Greens and other progressives to overcome rightwing divide-and-conquer tactics. PDA works with diverse groups that share common goals in order to build winning coalitions.
PDA is Building a Movement
Social change begins with social movements and ends with politicians, not vice-versa. Our inside/outside strategy 'leads the leaders' by building a powerful movement for true participatory democracy.
